Obituary for Helen Emily Petrey Monroe
Helen Emily Petrey Monroe, 89, widow of James “Monty” Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. A native of Frankfort, she was born on February 4, 1930 to the late Simon and Sarah Johnson Petrey. She retired from Union Underwear and was a member of Family Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Denny) Dickerson, Frankfort; her son, Rev. Timothy (Donna) Monroe, Frankfort; her sister, Viola Stivers, Frankfort; 4 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Rev. Vern Huber will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Helen’s grandsons. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Monday, September 23, 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Baptist Church.
