Obituary for John Richard Shumate
Frankfort – John Richard Shumate, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019. He was born in Woodford County to the late Richard and Nettie Lippert Shumate. He was a farmer and a Veteran of the US Marine Corp having served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his son, Dan Gorman, FL; his niece, Mitzi (Charles) Martha, Lexington; his nephew, Barry Jones, Lexington; and his granddaughters, Amanda and Kate Gorman.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Todd Lester will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
